In 1955, Roxy
Electric Company Limited (Roxy) started business as
a small electrical retail shop. Two years after its
establishment, the relationship between Roxy and Sharp
Corporation of Japan (Sharp) began. Roxy was appointed
as the exclusive agent for handling the sales and after-sales
activities of the products of Sharp. Thereafter, Roxy
has been one of the leading importers of electronics
in Hong Kong.
In the Asia-Pacific region such as in Singapore and
Malaysia, Roxy also has a number of joint ventures with
Sharp regarding the manufacturing, sales and after-sales
services of Sharp products.
To strengthen the foothold of Sharp in Hong Kong, Macau
and southern part of China, Sharp-Roxy (Hong Kong) Limited
(SRH) was established in August 1987 as a equal share
(50%-50%) joint venture company between Sharp and Roxy.
As the exclusive agent of Sharp in Hong Kong and Macau
and the non-exclusive agent of Sharp in southern part
of China, SRH is responsible for sales, distribution,
advertising/promotion and after-sales services of full
range Sharp products to customers in the regions concerned.
Since the business grew rapidly over last few decades,
SRH is distribution channel and after-sales services
extended to major cities of China indirectly. |
